Red Cloud beats out Mother Nature

RED CLOUD, NE (June 22)—Track officials were able to get the race program complete Friday night, June 22, at The Speed Bowl in Red Cloud, NE, before the rains came later in the evening.

Jordan Grabouski of Beatrice won his second IMCA Modified feature of the season at Red Cloud.  Heat two winner Troy Johnson finished second, followed by Jon Thompson, Lonnie Schriner and heat one victor Larry Sutton.

Brett Behrends of Webber, KS, won his third feature in a row in the IMCA Stock Car division.  Heat two winner Matt Streit followed Behrends across the finish line, trailed by Jason McCartney, Jason Smidt and Brant Beam.  Martin Newlin won the other heat race.

Mike Shriver of Hastings was able to beat heat two winner Delbert Selvage to the checkers in the IMCA Hobby Stock feature.  It was Shriver’s second win of the year at ‘The Bowl’.  Jim Buss finished third, followed by Joe McDole and Jerry Hudson.  First heat winner Rocky Zimmerman placed sixth.

After winning his heat race, Andy Sole was also victorious in the 4-cylinder feature.  Joshua Bodenus finished second.

Drew Barry & Ethan Vogler of Superior found their way to victory lane for the first time this season with a win in the Cruiser feature.  Heat race winners Curtis Craig & Darrell Shellito finished second.

The regular five divisions return this Friday night, June 29.  Racing begins at 8:00 p.m.
